Where were you in '92?

In 1992 LA based rock band, Get Back Jack, was one of the hottest draws on the local club scene.  Featuring a unique sound owing to a blend of churning guitars, a pounding rhythm section, soaring backing vocals and searing sax solos, the band was widely anticipated to be on the brink of releasing its debut album.

But in February of 1993 the lead singer, Jack, disappeared.

Along with Jack the studio tapes of the album, "Thunder Bay", also disappeared.  It was rumored that Jack abandoned the US completely, determined to leave everything behind in a quest that eerily echoed the theme of the album's title track - a search for refuge, relevance, and redemption.

Late in 2018, after years of following numerous tips that eventually led nowhere, we received an anonymous call regarding a quaint little Australian town called Wollstonecraft, on Sydney's North Shore.

This led to what can only be described as a wild adventure, tracing through Australia to Singapore, Hong Kong, London, Prague and, eventually, to Walnut Creek, California.

It's been an amazing ride, and there were countless times that we had almost become convinced that we were on just another dead end journey, but this time it was different.

And it is our pleasure to announce today that the studio tapes were not a myth, and that the first 6 songs have been released as an EP on Spotify and other music sites.  You can find "Thunder Bay" on Spotify here.

We will be releasing a mini documentary on our search, titled "Run With Me - In Search of Get Back Jack" shortly - please check back here for updates.  In the meantime, we would highly recommend that you find some time to play the album on your favorite music device, turn it up loud, and take the opportunity to enjoy what has been missing for 26 years.

And just keep repeating to yourself - "take me home, Thunder Bay."
